Hi
never heard of camstudio being able to do that
IrfanView (Options->Capture/ScreenShot) for this task

May I ask are you just taking a screen shot of your desktop or of something playing in a media player?
If it's a video withing a media player use VLC to play your video doesnt have to be full screen, VLC has the record button only revealed when you click View show advanced Controls.
It also has the camera which you can press manually to grab a screen shot of the current playing video, just press again and again at various points
Set the save to preferences first otherwise it goes to VLC or your Windows Temp folder.
Make a new folder to save for these VLC I put mine in my Documents >VLC.
VLC is open source and can be programmed as well.
