When I am trying to set my SCOM 2012R activation status to product license level from evaluation level I am getting the following message:

Set-SCOMLicense : Specified method is not supported.

I followed articles:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh966734.aspx and ran the following commands:

1. Open PowerShell as an Administrator

2. Load the OperationsManager Module (import-module operationsmanager)

3. Connect to your ManagementGroup (New-SCOMManagementGroupConnection)

4. Use Set-SCOMLicense “yourlicensekey“

but it still does not work

On a management server, click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft System Center 2012, click Operations Manager, and then click Operations Manager Command Shell.

Did you follow this or did you do the steps you outlined above?  What error messages if any did you get?
