Text Messaging Questions

I have some questions that some managers asked me as the IT guy, and I'm not sure the answers as I don't know all aspects of Android phones, or iPhones

These are the question below. I hope they make sense. Thanks for any help!

Can you setup an android phone to automatically delete a text after being read?

Can you retrieve text messages after they've been deleted?

Can you block someone from calling, but still be able read what they texted you?

Maybe it has to do with a special App you can download..

Thanks

Can you setup an android phone to automatically delete a text after being read?

No experience with Android phones but the following link suggests that you can:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jfk.android

Can you retrieve text messages after they've been deleted?

Yes (on an iPhone) either from an iCloud backup, an iTunes backup on the computer you sync it to or via a 3rd party App.  No idea about Androids for the above reason.

Can you block someone from calling, but still be able read what they texted you?

You can on an iPhone if it is Jailbroken and you have installed an App that I use called iBlacklist.  With this you can block callers and/or text messages and blocked text messages still show on the phone, but in the iBlacklist App, not in Messages.

IT, Stop Being Called Into Every Meeting

Highfive is so simple that setting up every meeting room takes just minutes and every employee will be able to start or join a call from any room with ease. Never be called into a meeting just to get it started again. This is how video conferencing should work!

This is how I answered our managers on their questions.

Can you setup an android phone to automatically delete a text after being read?
Privatext is a good example for this.
Disappearing messages, on your terms
•      Privatext brings the privacy and comfort of a face to face conversation, right to your smartphone.
•      Messages disappear instantly from your phone, your contacts' phones, and Privatext servers whenever you want them to
•      With Privatext’s ‘Confirmation Texting’ option and the ability to Clear sent messages before they’re read, you never have to worry about sending a text to the wrong person
•      Avoid identity theft by sending credit card information, social security numbers, and other sensitive information via Privatext
•      With Privatext, you can choose if you’d like your messages password protected
•      Privatext is the most secure way to send text, images and personal information from your smartphone.
•      Privatext texts and pictures are uniquely encoded, so they can’t be saved, intercepted, or copied. And every Privatext message is automatically deleted off of both the sender and recipient’s phones, as well as Privatext’s servers, with you deciding the message’s lifespan.
•      Privatext messages can only be sent between you and the other Privatext users on your contact list to ensure your privacy.

Can you retrieve text messages after they've been deleted?

To be able to retrieve deleted texts on an Android phone depends on the make and a few other things. Here are two things to try and get your messages back.
1.      Retrieve the data from a Recovery Program
2.      Retrieve the data from a SIM card reader
Here is a card reader that comes with the data recovery software Dekart SIM Card Reader for Windows PC
Easy to backup and easy to restore. music, videos, texts and other data safe MobileGo for Android

Can you block someone from calling, but still be able read what they texted you?
Mr. Number-Block calls, texts
Description
Mr. Number makes it easy to block calls and texts, plus identify and stop spam. Lookup unknown phone numbers.
•      Block calls and texts from one person, an area code or the entire world
•      Stop telemarketers and debt collectors before they waste your time
•      Automatically intercept calls and texts from private/unknown numbers
•      Report spam calls, SMS, and MMS to warn other users
•      Reverse lookup mobile and landline numbers
Block texts and calls from a person, a business, a prefix, or the world. Pick up and hang up on some callers and send others to voicemail - you decide. Keep the content of blocked texts or trash them.
