Office Communicator 2005 no longer works after service account password change

I have an Office Communictor 2005 server setup. The main service was setup to use the domain admin account. I changed that password the other day and now my users are unable to log into communicator. I tried updating the password but it still does not work. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot the problem?

Thanks,

Justin

I also noticed several updates installed last night. I removed the updates but I am still not able to sign in. When my users try to sign in, they get a username and password prompt which never needs to be filled out. They just need to enter their e-mail address into the sign in account field in the settings.

I looked through the logs but can't find anything that is helpful. I have restarted the server multiple times.

Any help is appreciated.

thanks,

Justin

When I restart the server, the time is 7 minutes off. I reset the time but I am still unable to log in. When I look at the log above, the time is listed as 17:53:48 which would be almost 6PM. That is six hours or so fast. I am wondering if an off time is causing the issue but I can't tell where else the time may be off?

Thanks,

Justin

Go to the server that has communicator on it and sort b the Service name.

You shouldn;t be using the Damion admin account but ....

Make sure the all servides ar upred with then new password.

Thank you for the reply. I was able to fix this with the resolution below.

Log on to the Live Communications Server 2005 server as a member of the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group.
Open Live Communications Server 2005.
In the console tree, expand the forest node, and then do one of the following:
For an Enterprise pool, expand Enterprise pools, expand the pool, right-click Front Ends, and then click Properties.
For a Standard Edition Server, expand Standard Edition servers, right-click the pool, click Properties, and then click Front End Properties.
Click the Authentication tab.
On the Authentication tab, in the Authentication protocol list, click the protocol “NTLM”.
