Exchange on-line Plan 1

Hello,

My current environment is Exchange 2003 server and active directory 2003.

I want to migrate to exchange online plan 1 (in the cloud):

 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/compare-microsoft-exchange-online-plans-hosted-email-for-business-FX103764022.aspx

One of the features is active directory integration, of which single sign-on is an important feature.

If I want to take advantage of the feature, does my local AD infrastructure need to be upgraded when the move the cloud is done?

Thanks,

Mark

Are you planning on just using DirSync to synchronize your AD accounts? Or, are you also looking to synchronize passwords as well? If you are looking to synchronize passwords as well you will need to set up Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).

Step by step guide here.

You can do this on a 2003 level domain. But will need a separate 2008 server for ADFS.
