Hello,
We recently had an issue with a previous staff member leaving our organization, upon his departure we found he built our crystal reports server, services, cmc into his account. I was able to change the odbc connections, services, etc to run through a standard service account. The CMC and citrix environment that we run logicity through is now working normally, but locally we are experiencing running issues for both myself and one other trying to run crystal reports xi r2 to edit, run, create new reports tying to these same databases. Anyone have any advice on what to check or review?

I think the issues are mixed.  The first which you have corrected deals with setting up the server to run as a dedicated service account versus a individual's account.
The second part deals with how your database server authentication is configured (windows or mixed)
Based on the answer on the authentication scheme, you need to check whether the database authentication method you use provides you the access you need.
i.e. windows authentication, does your account have requisite rights on the database you and your colleague wish to access?
Similarly for an sql login, are you using one that has the requisite access.

Check the database security for login accounts sql and windows based (including mapped) i.e. domain\users is mapped to a predefine_rights_account.
Check the security under the database to which you want/need access to see which accounts are defined there.

Then check what rights your accounts have on the Crystal Server.

You may not have an issue with accessing the DB, but publishing the report to the crystal server.

If your crystal issue limited to the publication of the report, check the crystal server configuration first.

Thank you Arnold, I was able to give this account access and work through a lot of the issues. I continue to find some weird tendencies and things that are occurring in this environment. Now the administrator is having issues running reports through cmc, but users are able to. I am currently rebuilding a new server to transition these users to, and will have to probably run into more issues during the transition.
