Backed up contact list lost samsung 4s

Hi experts Samsung s4

I recently replaced a faulty handset samsung s4 with a new one via my mobile service provider. I download kies 3 software backup all the contacts and the process said 100% complete and then deleted all me phone contacts.

The new mobile arrived, I handed the damaged one back. Tried to re install the backed up contacts file and I cannot seem to find it...when I search via the given file path in kies 3, it's created a folder and it's empty...

I tried invein to contact the mobile company but they destroy all faulty handsets after 72 hrs.

Would you know where the backed up file could have end up or any other solution to get my contacts back.

The file extension is .sbu .. Have you searched your drives for 8.sbu

Looks like this program can extract contacts if you find it.

Do you save your contacts to your phone or to your google account?  Check your google account for the contacts as well.

So the Kies backup should have saved the file to your computer.

Sorry to say but it looks like you are going to have to rebuild your contacts.

I always make sure the phones gave to my gmail accounts and not my phone so that it is never a worry about getting them back.

Sorry..
