We had the same issue and wound up re-installing BE 2012 SP3 and patching in the database and catalogs using be utility, that was the only way we could get sp3 on there after multiple times

I've managed to solve the problem by running a windows update, restarting the server and running the live update again. BE 2012 is now SP3

This is a 2008 R2 server with Exchange 2010.<br />

Backup jobs stopped working and I can see on VSS Exchange writer error. I have reboot the server but the error persists and Exchange backup jobs fails.<br />
<br />
I am planning to upgrade to BE to SP3 to check if this will solve the problem however the live update will fails on installation as well.<br />

I have attached screenshots.<br />

I tried the following the fix for LU1812 and I received the OK message. <br />
Also I've tried 'Repair' the installation BE without much luck.<br />

Hi There,

Error trying to update BE 2012 to SP3
