hosts file not resolving to anything I enter

local hosts file does not resolve to any entry that I put in to the local hosts file on any pc on the domain.  1st time seeing something like this.

Is there a policy overriding it?  And I'm assuming you placed the entries in correctly, ie:

IP Address FQDN

I would have to check the gpo. What exactly would I be looking for in the gp that would cause this.

The HOSTS file can easily be opened in Notepad and then  searched.  Are you not finding the entry in there?

No matter what entry I add in my hosts file on any pc in my domain it does not read it.  Not sure why this is happening all of a sudden

zito2000--Run a System Restore to a time before the problem started.

I ending up doing a ipconfig/flushdns and ipconfig/registerdns and it started to work again.
