If you run rsop.msc on virtual server are you able to view WSUS GPO settings ?

Path is computer configuration\administrative templates\windows components\windows updates

I think GPO is not applied and updates are downloaded from internet directly.

Also once you select install now it will install in background (Stealth mode) and when you restart computer by EOD you will notice that updates are being installed

After reboot you can check add remove programs for installed updates

Are your AD admin tools letting you down?

Managing Active Directory can get complicated.  Often, the native tools for managing AD are just not up to the task.  The largest Active Directory installations in the world have relied on one tool to manage their day-to-day administration tasks: Hyena. Start your trial today.
