Contact Not Showing Up in E-mail

When sending an e-mail in Outlook , is there a way to just start typing someone's first or last name and having the contact / contacts show up from the global directory?

-without having to first send an e-mail so that it populates in the .nk2 file.
?

Thanks

enter the first or last name and then try pressing Ctrl+K and check if automatically try to resolve the name via GAL or local address book.

If a contact/ email account has recently been added to Active Directory then you need to update the GAL on client PC.

How to update GAL on client PC: http://help.unc.edu/help/exchange-how-to-update-the-global-address-book-in-outlook/

ASKER

if I uncheck : Cache Exchange Mode - - and open Outlook , bottom right still shows : Connected to Microsoft Exchange.

It should say : Online With Microsoft Exchange
