Our upgraded line of business app is crashing

Our physical therapy business recently upgraded our eon systems documentor2 software and it was upgraded to ver 5.1 At the same time, we added 3 windows 8.1 laptops to our network.
Since then, about 3 weeks ago, we have experienced random crashes and errors. I'm the IT guy, and have installed a new server (windows 7 pro desktop) and have tried about every networking possibility to troubleshoot this. The vendor has tried everything they know . The app is built on Visual Foxpro 9.
I am about to try bringing one of my servers (windows 2008 or 2012 ) over to try this because nothing else works. Network connectivity seems solid from each desktop to the server, no error in server event logs. (need to check more in desktop logs)
At this point I'm running out of ideas and am wanting some more ideas for troubleshooting. I have a long list of things I've already done.
