box api

I would like to know if the box api can accomplish the following:

1. Folder on Box account
2. Folder name would be saved with a unique index in addition
3. Use the API to view the content and create links to the files.

Would I need to create records in my database to do this? Would the API write those records in?

Looking at this thing, it appears to be a programmable version of DropBox, a "cloud" repository that could be useful for people who did not have their own online storage, but wanted to store and manage information for a sharing community, perhaps with different geographic locations and different devices.

There are folders, and things in folders:

Folders can have a unique {id}:

Folders can be shared:

Executive summary: It sounds like a "cloud" file system or an alternative to FTP.

Thanks for the points.  From what I see on CNBC they may be trying to go public soon! ~Ray
