Win7 PC password

I need to get into my win7 pc.
I forgot the password.

The Admin and user accounts are disabled

I have tried Ophcrack without any luck

When I reboot to command prompt I still get asked for the password.

Any ideas?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you have an install disk (for any version of Windows, really), use this guide: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/reset-password-windows-7.htm

The important part is to gain access to command prompt. On most install disks you simply press SHIFT+F10 at the screen where it says "Install Windows".

I'm wanting to know the password rather than re-setting it.

If you want to know the password, but Ophcrack did not work, then I'd say you're out of luck.
You need to get someone who knows the password,

How about reactivating the Admin account from the dos prompt?

Dan CraciunIT ConsultantCommented:
You can do that using Ntpasswd (http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/) but even if you activate the administrator account this will not help recover your lost password.

The only situation I can think of where this is preferable is if you don't want the owner of the computer to know you've been through his/her files.
