Adobe software and academic pricing

I'm planning to get an academic version.  This looks like the best price so far:

Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard
$447
http://www.studica.com/us/en/AdobeNonProfit/adobe-cs6-design-standard-non-profit/541292.html

Has anyone found better pricing for the academic?  Would be nice to get the suite that has After Effects and Premiere but I haven't found it.  If anyone has seen that at academic pricing, please post a link.

Doesn't really have anything to do with my question.

scroll down - $19.95 per month or $199 per year that is more than half what you have quoted.

It’s kind of a big deal:
Last chance to save 65% on
Creative Cloud.

Ok.  That's true.  But I graduate in May.  So maybe not the best option since the annual fee will skyrocket?

I think you'll have a difficult time trying to beat $447 (academic pricing) for Creative Suite CS6, if you are looking on ebay.

Guess I'm not sure why I'd pay $360/yr when I can pay $447 for about 3 years.

Good to know.  Thanks.
It depends on a few things.
If you buy CS6, it is already two years old and you will not get any further updates or features. Only maintenance and bug fixes at the most. If you work with others you will have to be ready for incompatibilities and having to let others save from CC down to CS6.
But this will only be one payment.

If you go for CC you will get all upgrades and features as they are ready. You can use your account for install on two computers. CS6 is included in the license. You get 20GB storage on the CC cloud where you can share your files and access your files with a tablet or smart phone. You get free access to TypeKit (currenty over 450 fonts), free Pro Behance account and access to 27 top notch graphics software. Monthly payments in subscription.

Some think of it this way: How many hours can / do I sell each month? How much do I have to add to my rate to pay for the CC subscription? Not much is it?
If I can't afford this, should I maybe use cheaper software or even be in the business?

I'm a single designer.  I don't need to worry about compatibility.  CS4 would get me by for a while.  I'm only wanting to upgrade now to take advantage of academic pricing.  Otherwise, I wouldn't upgrade.  There isn't enough difference between CS4 and CS6.

You're wrong about updates.  I still get periodic updates pushed to me for CS4.
Updates for CS4 to CS6 are only updates for compatibility and bugfixes, not new features.
