Hi a friend told me a while back that I thing it was with gmail, I can create an address and add something to the end (it may have been a dot followed by any charecters) and they would all be directed to me. For example if my email is ABCD@gmail.com then I can also use the email address ABCD.E@gmail.com

Is there a way to enable that? Not sute what its called sorry for the poor description

The correct syntax uses a "+" sign.

So if your email is ABCD@gmail.com, then you could use ABCD+E@gmail.com, ABCD+F@gmail.com, etc...

This feature is enabled by default for Gmail.
