SBS 2008 server with IIS 7 and added a new SSL certificate. Now https site fails

Background: Company had existing SSL certificate from GoDaddy which they let expire. That certificate supported our Sharepoint site. The httpsport we use is 987. The site worked fine with the old certificate.

We obtained a new SSL certificate frm GoDaddy and successfully installed both components, the .p7b and the .cer. All that went fine.

However when we attempt to access the site via IE the message no longer shows regarding the certificate but instead now it just says "Internet Explorer cannot display HTTPS:xxxxxx.

I don't know if I should post the site name here or not but I am willing to share it if necessary. This site supports the company timecard application so it's a major issue being down.

I tried to bind the site in question to port 443 and got the error that port 443 was alredy associated with another site but I did it anyway. Yes I found out that doesn't work so I have remove 443 and now just have 80 local and 987 for https;

Can someone give me a hand with this?

Please!

Regards,

TJ
