unable to add shared thermal printer

I am unable to add shared printer. Win 7 PRO, printer and file sharing is enabled, any ideas?

Sometimes or on some printers I have to use this trick:

1. In devices and printers select add printer but select a "local printer"
2. Select Create a new port and choose "Local Port" as the type of the port
3. For the port name use the: \\[IP or Host name]\SharedPrinterName
and use the IP if the hosts are using a workgroup and use the Host name if you are using a domain.
4. Select the correct diver if listed or "Have disk" to install the proper drivers

Even so it might not work for some drivers if you are not an administrator so first you should check if as an administrator you could do it.
