Why is smaller image larger?
In Illustrator, I've saved for web on the 2x image. I then save for web and change the dimensions to 1/2 the size. The 1/2 size image is actually larger. How is that possible?

and then im guess the difference is in how the compression is working.
it may handle the larger blank space in the x2 image better as there is a lot more of the transparent section
i;m not too sure, but this is a guess
