We have an Intranet that services as a Rolodex and runs some reports. It was created with ASP.NET and Visual Studio.Net and calls the information from a SQL 2000 database. We were going to upgrade our SQL 2000 database to SQL 2012 but we are finding out it is quite involved with the coding and we cannot get a hold of our programmer.
We wanted to find out if there are popular Rolodex programs that might be able to replace this functionality? Any assistance offered would be greatly appreciated.
Are you or somebody in your organization familiar with sql server? If so, I would simply create a test environment and start out first by upgrading from 2000 to 2008 http://blogs.technet.com/b/mdegre/archive/2009/07/21/migration-sql-server-2000-to-sql-server-2008.aspx
