We have a Windows 2003 R2 Std SP2 server. It is a file server and domain controller.<br />
Every so often (2 to 5 weeks) it reports event ID 1003 in system log. There are 2 different errors I see as shown below:<br />

Error code 00000077, parameter1 c0000185, parameter2 c0000185, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 1daef000.<br />
Error code 0000007a, parameter1 c06017c8, parameter2 c0000185, parameter3 c02f94e0, parameter4 29da4884.<br />

Both errors seem to point to STATUS_IO_DEVICE_ERROR.<br />
I had Dell check logs and found no hardware issues. Dell suggests updating firmware and drivers. &nbsp; <br />
<br />
I do not see any other error besides this event so if it is not a critical issue, I would like to avoid firmware update unless necessary. <br />

Does anyone have any input as to what is happening and how to address this?<br />
