Configure exchange emails. Remove pop catchall.

Hi, We are due to transfer over to exchange 2010 on our sbs2011 machine, however our sbs2003 server has been configured to download from a pop3 connected catch all account.

I will be changing our MX records to point direct to one of my fixed IP's in order to created a remote.ourdomain.org.uk, at the same time I want to remove our IPS's cathcall and have emails come direct.

my question is can I create a connection on my 2003 exchange server that I can enable once the mx records have been updated and how do i go about doing this?

You need to make an A record for lets say mail1.your domain pointing at your externalIP and an MX record pointing at that A recocd.
All you need to do to setup your email is run the internet wizard in console:

brilliant, thats what i was looking for. Do i need to open or forward any ports on my router for this?.

Yes port 25 for smtp forwarded to serve IP>
