Getting failure when trying to open Apps in a citrix presentation server

I have an issue with accessing an application inside a Citrix Presentation server. Our client access server is accessed via the web. I can fully access it from desktop, my personal laptop and my home machine. We have just set up a new laptop with Windows 7 Pro and when I try to access it we get this message:

"cannot connect to the citrix presentation server. there is no citrix presentation server configured on the specified address"

I have mirrored my IE security settings to this laptop, uninstalled and re-installed the the Citrix client and still get the same result. I also downgraded from IE11 to IE10. I have also shutdown the firewall.

Other things I have noticed: When accessing the application from my machine when the ica file comes in a cmd window pops..runs then goes away...on the machine this is failing on that never occurs.
Thanks
James Dunn
Any ideas?

so looks like the issue is from you webinterface.

since you can access your application by using PNagent

what version of web interface you are using?

and please make sure you have the right info under the farm field. it needs to match exactly your farm.

and is it over DMZ? or all internal network? and firewall blocked the traffic?

I didnt access the application thru the agent to get you version number...I went to server. I can reach and run apps from multiple other computers just not this one laptop.

Justin YeungCommented:
Are you connecting inside or outside?
Try to use ip, it looks like there is a DNS issue from your web interface

I have my machine on my desktop and this laptop...they are plugged into the same switch, one works and the other does not. I have completely mirrored all settings between the 2 machines. One works (mine) and this new laptop does not. I am outside from the server.

so you can connect to the web interface by browsing to it.

but after you sign in and click on the application, you got the error on your laptop?

Justin YeungCommented:
are both machines in the same domain?
0

Leverage IT ConsultingAuthor Commented:
one in domain one in workgroup...but that should not matter the citrix server we going to is not in the same domain as my desktop...this is for a client...as I said before I can do this from 3 machines at home too and from my personal laptop here (workgroup) here in my office or at starbucks

Justin YeungCommented:
post the receiver log file from this location on the laptop

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ICAClient\wfcwin32.log

Solution was found.....while you can login to the citrix presentation server at http://xxxx.com you cannot fire up the application unless you login to the server using https://xxx.com
