Suggest a Good IP Address Manager

Hi,

Can anyone suggest me a good open source/freeware IP Address Manager with the capabilities to have unlimited subnets added to it as well as detect active IP Address along with their DNS names within a custom defined range. I have used IPPlan and Teemip, is there any other good IP Address Manager.

As per my testing Teemip lacks the capability of detecting active IP Address within a range and IPPlan lacks few capability of Assiging same name to different subnets/ranges.

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at SpiceWorks?
http://www.spiceworks.com/network-management/

It's free and does some nice asset/inventory management.

I would also look at some of SolarWinds free tools.

Big Data Means Big Business

In data-dependent industries like IT, finance, and healthcare, there’s a growing demand for qualified analysts to fill leadership roles. WGU’s MS in Data Analytics has IT certifications from Oracle and SAS built into its curriculum at a flat fee that could save you money.

While not having the detection capability, I always find myself coming back to Excel...

Hello

Windows 2012 has a new role called IPAM (ip address management tool) designed for managing IP ranges and if I am not mistaken DNS with it.

While OS itself is not free, if you have it anywhere already you can install this role and give it a try.
