Hi,

Can anyone suggest me a good open source/freeware IP Address Manager with the capabilities to have unlimited subnets added to it as well as detect active IP Address along with their DNS names within a custom defined range. I have used IPPlan and Teemip, is there any other good IP Address Manager.

As per my testing Teemip lacks the capability of detecting active IP Address within a range and IPPlan lacks few capability of Assiging same name to different subnets/ranges.

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at SpiceWorks?
http://www.spiceworks.com/network-management/

It's free and does some nice asset/inventory management.

I would also look at some of SolarWinds free tools.

Hello

Windows 2012 has a new role called IPAM (ip address management tool) designed for managing IP ranges and if I am not mistaken DNS with it.

While OS itself is not free, if you have it anywhere already you can install this role and give it a try.
