Exchange Server Notifcation when server is down

Hi,

I have exchange 2013 installed on windows server 2012 system,
I'm looking for a monitoring software with the ability to send an email (via Gmail SMTP) when the exchange server is down.
Any recommendation ?

Last time I checked the SolarWinds tool doesn't work with Exchange 2010 or 2013.

I use this solution with a couple of clients:
http://mxalerts.com/

If the server stops responding to email I get a message to my Gmail account.
Depends what you mean by server down. You can get various free "ping" tools that will alert you when a server stops responding.
