Exchange 2013 log viewer

Can anybody advise on a convenient way to examine the Exchange 2013 protocol logs?

In particular, I'd like to be able to easily examine particular SMTP sessions to see what has happened when message delivery has been attempted. I can then know if the recipient's mail server has accepted the message.

Cheers.

i recommend using log parser which is free

http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2007/monitoring-operations/creating-graphical-reports-exchange-2007-part1.html
(and part 2 and part 3)

Or else, there is some paid version like Quest MessageStats or something like that ...

convenient way? i am not sure how much convenient you want to read logs

anyway, if the email deliver/submit successfully (even if the email is going to be bounced back),  you don't even need to read protocol logs. you just need to read transaction logs.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997624(v=exchg.150).aspx for structure of the emails

so what is your real issue?

I'm after a way to parse the info in the daily smtp logs and filter the results by say sender or recipient etc.
