vcops 5.8 how can i reset the UI GUI admin password?

the vApp , VC ops user interface , how can I reset the "admin" password ?

I have access to the command line on the UI and analitics vm

Hi,

If you forget the admin user password for vCenter Operations Manager, a script is available for you to re-set that password.

For vCenter Operations 5.0, download the attached script and copy to the vApp using a tool such as SCP.

For vCenter Operations 5.0.1 and subsequent versions, the script is available in the vApp.

To reset the admin password:

Note:  If you are on a version later than 5.0, go to Step 3.

1. If you are on the 5.0 version, download and unzip the file resetadminpwd.zip to obtain  
    the script file resetadminpwd.sh.
2. Save resetadminpwd.sh on the UI virtual machine in the /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/conf/install folder.
3. Change directory to /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/conf/install.
4. Make the resetadminpwd.sh script executable using this command:
    chmod 755 resetadminpwd.sh


5. As root, run the script resetadminpwd.sh on the UI virtual machine:

./resetadminpwd.sh new-password

Note: The $ character should not be used in new-password. If you want to use $, reset the admin password using the script to a temporary password without a $ and then reset the admin password to the required password in the vCenter Operations admin console.

thanks , I am not sure this is the right thing to do but I have no other options at this point

i have reinstalled the vapp and made sure the times zone is correct and matches the esx host that it resides on , I can get into the Command line but cannot get into the UI GUI not matter what ........

thanks I will attempt to reset it
