Found this online... no such KB installed!

Uninstalling KB2412171 on Windows 7 or Windows Vista
1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.Click Programs, and then under Programs and Features, click View installed updates.
3.Click the entry for KB2412171, and then click Uninstall.

It would be normal to take 10 seconds to load all the add ins that Outlook has. My Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 takes up to 10 seconds to load.

1. Look at the add ins you have and see if any can be disabled.

2. Start Outlook in Safe Mode and see if it is faster.  Here is a source about starting in safe mode.

3. How big is your inbox  and your mail file?  Overloaded inboxes take a long time to load.

>>> Actual Time To Load (TTL) = 2:30

1. Look at the add ins you have and see if any can be disabled.
>>> Only Roboform, Norton, Adobe PDF

2. Start Outlook in Safe Mode and see if it is faster.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 there is a Search box in the Start Menu. Here type; outlook.exe /safe
>>> "Windows cannot find 'search:query=outlook.exe%2Fsafe'..."
>>> CTRL + shortcut - no safe mode.

3. How big is your inbox  and your mail file?  Overloaded inboxes take a long time to load.
>>> Backed up .pst files, deleted Sent/Junk/Drafts - purged In (now only 35 files): TTL = 1:30

>>> Other PC (win 7 Pro/Office 2007) on home network: Outlook TTL=1:15 with In Box = 135

First for Safe Mode, the method should work. It does for me. Make sure Outlook is closed, hold down the Control Key and double click the Desktop Icon for Outlook.  See below.

Outlook-2010-Safe-Mode
If safe mode does not work, the try repairing Office. Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, click on Microsoft Office and select Change and Repair. See if Repair allows Safe Mode and what the time to load is in Safe Mode.

Backed up .pst files, emptied most Deleted Items (66 left), deleted most RSS Feeds, Deleted most sent Items (19 left) - Time to Load = 1:13 minutes:sec

Loaded in Safe Mode, TTL < 3 seconds. Why? What now?

All TTL with stopwatch.

Safe mode removes all add-ins on loading. You need to make a record of what add-ins are running, remove them all, restart and see if that helps.

Also now you could try running an Office Repair and see if that helps.

Removed add-ins that seemed non-essential - Wow TTL < 3 sec!

Thanks.
