Windows 8 Update Wont download?

I just upgraded a computer from windows 7 to windows 8.  The wireless card driver did not install correctly (giving a code 10)  Did some research and was told to check windows updates for driver updates.  I proceeded to do so and found a update for it.  When trying to download the update it does not download.  The computer has connectivity from an ethernet adapter.  After a little bit the computer gave an error code of 8024c008.  I tried to look it up on google and found nothing related...  I know it downloads and installs because I put remote software on it.  Did a virus scan and didn't find anything.  I really don't want to reload this computer to get it to work.  The customer does not have any of the cd's for the software.  Any Suggestions

Have you tried downloading the drivers for the wireless card directly from the manufacturer?

What is the model of the computer?

Yes they only have drivers for windows 7 not 8.  Its a hp all-in-one ms225.  When I run it it says its corrupt with three downloads.  My main concern is windows 8 updating so I can get 8.1

Have you tried scanning it with the HP driver update? Otherwise, as per the page, it suggests downloading the latest driver from the manufacturer.

As from the HP website.

What if I don't see my operating system from HP's software page?

If the operating system you are looking for is not listed on the software download site, HP does not have software or driver downloads available for your computer and operating system. HP provides software and driver updates for the operating system that originally came with your computer as it was designed and tested for the operating system purchased with the PC. Changing the operating system on your computer (upgrading or downgrading), puts the system into a configuration that might not work with the hardware design. If you you must change the operating system, get drivers from the manufacturer of the component you need. For example, if a computer has NVIDIA video hardware and was upgraded to a newer version of Windows, someone would go to NVIDIA's web site to download and install an updated driver.

The major problem that I am trying to address is the 8024c008 error that I am getting with windows update.  I know what to so with the driver situation.  I appreciate the help with that but I wanted to give a whole background on what was happening.  Can anyone help me with the windows update error?

Do NO Windows updates work? Or just the driver?
The wireless card is from Atheros, this is the windows 8 driver: http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=22&system=7 -> when on that page click on "Click for download", the download will start after some seconds.

I tried to use that driver ans the one that windows has is more current so it wont install.  When I run the trouble shooter it says the files are missing or corrupt and I tried resetting the files but that didn't work either.  SFC says there are no errors.

You don't have to accept that. Install it manually.

You don't have to accept any expert's comments if you feel that you have solved it on your own. But the Atheros driver would have solved it, I am quite sure :) But resetting update components was another question, I guess.
