I search online couldn't find an answer I could understand, what is vfiler in netapp?

vFilers are ONTAP ( NetApp's proprietary operating system ) virtual containers that create separate virtual filer instances on a (physical) controller

I suggest you read up on Netapp here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetApp_filer

Basically netapp calls their storage devices filers, so you can look at virtual containers as virtual filers (storage devices) ... In very simple terms
