copy inbound exchange email to another smtp server

We have all our inbound company email delivered to our exchange 2010 server via an exchange edge server.

The exchange server is version 14.03.0174.001

We have one valid email address for which we need the inbound email copied to another internal smtp server, the same account exists on this smtp server. There is a legacy application that reads the mailbox on the other smtp server, but is incapable of reading an exchange mailbox.

Is this possible?

The email address in question would be backup_storage@3ex.co.uk and the smtp server would be accessible on ip address

Both the exchange server and edge server have direct access to this smtp server.

The simplest way to do this is to use the dummy domain method for this.
Simply create a contact with a dummy domain address on it - for example user@sub.example.com and then add in the preferred address of your primary domain.
Create a new Send Connector with the dummy domain listed as the Name space and set it to use a smart host, entering the IP address that you want.
Then simply ensure that the mailbox on the second server will accept email for the dummy domain.
