Hi, what could possibly be going on?  I was on You Tube earlier and I could hear everything perfectly well.  I left for a while and now I have no sound.  I can see everything perfect but no sound.  I then checked iTunes and it works fine, I went to various sites on the web and I can hear just fine.  I then went to another laptop and opened You Tube and I can hear just fine on the other computer. By the way, I checked my speaker volume and everything is ok there.

This is really strange because it is only affecting the sound from You Tube on this computer.  Any ideas???
Thanks

assuming you have not muted the youtube video; check volume button under the video rather than the windows one in the taskbar, if that's ok:-

youtube plays video through a third party player and, in my experience, it frequently screws up in interesting ways. for example: on this laptop I can't jump ahead and then back without crashing the page, if I scroll down to read comments it sounds ok but when I scroll back the video seems to be back at the point where I scrolled away (though the sound continued normally) at which point it has a minor seizure as it tries to catch up the frames it didn't play whilst I was not looking.

In your case a restart of the browser should fix it, or it may need a full reboot, try in a different browser as well in case the plug in is better behaved there

That is what it was.  The You Tube application was on mute.
Thanks
