If I've been running robocopy on quite a large data set and now have to stop it before it has completed what is the status of the data?

have any changes been made and saved following manual termination?

Imo, the changes already performed stay done.
There's no such a thing like a rollback as you have when performing queries on a database.

Thanks, I have stopped the copy, logged the finishing point, and will kick of RC again this evening from where it left off.
