Excel .xls files open new window as "Save As...." with error msg., instead of opening the file itself.
Please help resolve this, see attached file. Thank you

How are you opening the file. if you are using double click, pls right click and see what is showing the default action (it will shown in Bold).

Do you have an option to restore to previous version.... when you right click on the file? It really sounds like the file maybe corrupted.

It depends upon what operating system you are using. example xp or windows 7
