Hi Everyone

just wondering if anybody knows why 2 different modems would factory reset themselves at the same site, phone line.

We have had an old Netgear router factory reset it self, guessed this was a one off, Set it back up, two weeks later its resets its again, figure its a busted modem and replace it with a brand new Draytek router. few weeks later this too has now factory reset itself.

this is all at the same site, using the same phone line etc.

Has anybody come across this before and what the answer maybe.

thanks
Mike

Power issues?  Some modems/routers will do a factory reset if they are power cycled "x" number of times within a small time period.

Do these have a external button to do a factory reset?  Could be some body is messing with you.

The onlytimr ive ever experienced this was with talktalk and be unlimited, the reset occurred when they either updated the router or reset it as part of a security measure.

May seem obvious sound dumb to ask but have you changed router access details from defaults
