My OS is win 7 Prof 64 bit and I have pinnacle Studio 16.  I managed to import a video file from a video camera and it Is in MP4 format.  I am trying to view all the scenes in this file, then select the scene that I want to make the video a reduced time length.  But those out at youtube.com does not show me how to do this - at least the few that I looked at.  Anyone know of any training videos out there will show me how to do this and also add text thru the length of the video, and finally to replace the sound that the video was recorded in.  Thank u for your assistance

Using W7 x32
Yeah they want to charge for their Tuturials. They offer parts and then you have to pay via Itunes for the rest.

Have you joined and then access their forums?
From your Pinnacle do you have a sign in at the top?
Like Cyberlink they seem hard pressed to keep us updated with the latest versions so Pinnacle 16 is now outdated and only comes in European flavours.

I dont have Pinnacle any longer and bought Cyberlink Power Director 10 Ultra x64.
Youtube is the best really just about every product on the market has a youtube dedicated channel r

Without using a youtube, Pinnacle is very similar to Power Director 10 Ultra x64
once you drag the video to the time line it may condense it a bit so you wont see the single frames, try just dragging the blue line along and you should be able to see the preview in media player and the position by that  line and the number markers
Good idea to lock the audio first before editing the video
I have a lock from the left panel like a padlock  when this is locked that audio will not play on that track good to know when  you do not want a certain track to play audio or video.
PDD EditTo reduce that particular area hold your mouse on the blue line move it around till you see like a pinched hand to grab that line drag that back a few steps
hand grabberor rightclick this spot on the blue line what options do you see like mark start mark end? you need to highlight that frame then push it in a bit to shorten it.
Save it.
Your audio should be below this video you need to pay attention to the time frames in numbers.
You should be able to replace a piece of audio by just replacing  it over the old by dragging and drop method to the exact time frame. save it
or temporarily putting your new piece of audio below the original audio.
How many video and audio lines do you have?
Remember the undo and saving often at steps you go back to that step
Personally I feel you may have better results by trimming the video squashing may cause more problems as then the audio also moves.

even with my bought video editors such as Power Director and Nero Vision I still find use for the simple WMM, it can all these things as well and is free.
There is windows moviemaker which shows your video frame by frame ie thumbnails
