I am working with some clients to deploy some Server 2012 (and R2) RemoteApps. I have a lot of experience with 2008r2 Remote App but little with 2012. Am I seeing correctly that they took away the ability to build a RemoteApp into an MSI? <br />

I find that surprising as that was the easiest way to deploy a RemoteApp and it showed up in the users's Start Menu so it was seemless to them. <br />

If so, is deploying via RSS the only way now? With RSS, can you associate extensions with the RemoteApp? I am deploying MS Office right now and want to make sure I can associate the docx and xlsx extensions.

Server 2012 (and R2) Deploying RemoteApps

Windows Server 2012 is the server version of Windows 8 and the successor to Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows Server 2012 is the first version of Windows Server to have no support for Itanium-based computers since Windows NT 4.0. Windows Server 2012, now in its second release (Windows Server 2012 Release 2) includes Foundation, Essentials, Standard and Datacenter, and does not support IA-32 or IA-64 processors.
