I am trying to add a DL to the public folder on Exchange 2010, but get the message below

One or more users cannot be added to the folder access list. Non-local users cannot be given rights on this server

Any ideas?

Are you adding a Distribution group or a Mail Enabled Security group? Distribution Groups can't be granted permissions on things. Mail Enabled Security Groups can. You should be able to change it to a Mail Enabled Security Group by opening the group in ADUC and changing it to a security group. It will still be able to receive mail and send to group members, but it will also be useable for permissions.
