Installing DPM protection agent on primary DPM server

I have 2 DPM servers.  Both are server 2012 and running SCCM DPM 2012 SP1 v4.1.3417.0.

I had the secondary server backing up data on the primary but half the jobs would fail with communication errors.  So I uninstalled the protection agent.  I am trying to reinstall the protection agent now.  If I manually do it from the primary server through command line, I get a message saying that the DPM agent cannot be installed on a DPM server.

If I try to install from the secondary server through DPM 2012 SP1 console, it looks like it installs successfully, but if I check the agent status it shows as unavailable.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Fixed this issue by editing DCOM and adding everyone and applying permissions.  Then going back in and removing everyone.
