Server monitoring tools

Hello,

Can someone please recommend a good easy to use tool for monitoring servers. Currently we use ops manager and HP SIM (not too keen with them) Is there another tool easy to configure that anyone can recommend please? (something like it does what it says on the tin)

we have HP server/switches hardware estate in our domain.

Thanks

Any other parameters?  Cloud-based?  Multi-site?  Notification types? What kind of monitoring area you looking for?

I use several different types of monitoring services/software and they're sort of tailored to their uses in many cases.

Look at SolarWinds tools (www.solarwinds.com).  They have modules that can provide the following:

- Orion - network device monitoring
- SAM - Server and applications
- Virtual Manager - monitor virtual environment (Hyper-V and VMware)
- Storage Manager - Monitor your SAN / NAS
- IPAM - IP address management and DHCP scopes

I would also strongly recommend you look at Splunk (www.splunk.com)

Curious why you don't like SIM, when it already does what you want?
im kind of struggling to filter unnecessary y alerts from within HP sim. if you can help with the request  below that would be appreciated!
