I am looking for recommendations on which laptop I should buy. I would like the laptop to be fast (multitasking) and very good for movies/music. Meaning speakers/screen. That's basically all I'm going to need this for besides for basic school work. Looking to spend around 500$.

if you want good music quality - no laptop has that - best use an external system.
for the rest, it looks like you can do with any laptop
configure one for yourself, with at least 4 GB RAm - better  8 if you can afford it
maybe you want the big screen size (17")
then refine  pricewise the affordable CPU

if you want a FAST system -  look for an SSD
