Hi Experts,

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1.

Windows has tried many times to install Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (KB2890573).

Here is the error message:

Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (KB2890573)

Installation date: ?14/?03/?2014 10:46 PM

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code 66A

Update type: Important

This release includes an update to Visual Studio 2010 SP1 that lets Coded UI tests and action recordings in Microsoft Test Manager run successfully on machines that have Internet Explorer 9 or Internet Explorer 10 with KB 2870699 installed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,
Leigh

Are you trying to update your VS 2010 through Windows update OR you have the service pack downloaded and trying ?

There is couple of option you can try to fix this

66 A - Occurs when you updating current Framework, this can be fixed through Microsoft Fix-it, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2507641/en-US

If the issue still persist, then you can try this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5296830/microsoft-visual-studio-2010-service-pack-1-installation/5300990#5300990

If still persist, please repair the existing VS 2010 and try to install the service pack.

Please let me know.
