calendar control

For this calendar control below in .NET I want to select the value in client side onselect of date and time and input in a txtbox. I am using c#.NET webapp.

The ASP.net Calendar control works only with postbaks, it means, reloading the whole page each time you select a new date, except if you use ASP.net AJAX and place the Calendar inside an UpdatePanel. If you want to manage the calendar only in client side, there are better options than ASP.net Calendar.

Please explain your scenario in order to help you the better way.

through Nuget manager I was able to install Ajax and got calendar control. What is the purpose of placing the calendar inside an update panel.
