The logfiles are truncated by Exchange, as far as exchnage regognizes the backup, the maintenance tool truncates the log files. <br />
<br />
DPM just writes the backup tag, so Exchange maintenance knows, the there is a backup of the mailboxes. So your logfile problem is solved, if Exchange regognizes the DMP backup.
