Easy SQL / Sharepoint Install Script?

Hello,

I am installing Sharepoint 2012 in a Dev Environment (to be tested for backup / cloning software)

I just want the basic install. I can do SQL and Sharepoint on a separate server or the same (not worried about performance at this point)

I really just want the most effective and efficient way to do this. Would you recommend a manual install (ran into a bunch of what look to be time consuming prerequisites) or would you recommend a script (I tried but could not get SQLFinebuid from codeplex to work)

Any shortcuts? I have never installed SQL or Sharepoint but can usually bull my way through these things.

OS - 2012
SQL - 2012 or 2008
Sharepoint 2012

Thanks!
