I have a web page with several mp3 song clips. Some people have reported that all the songs play at once when they open the page. I have not been able to replicate the issue. It persists after the page is refreshed also. What could be causing this? It's an html 5 page. Below is a sample of how each song is coded:

<audio controls><source src="music/Song-1.mp3"><embed height="18" width="160" src="music/Song-1.mp3"></audio>

IE 8 was one. Not sure about others. Probably not the latest.

Okay the audio tag is HTML5 and IE prior to IE9 are not HTML5 aware.  So any HTML5 tag like audio will produce unpredictable results in old browsers.

To make matters worse the validator reports 44 errors in HTML for a lot of obsolete junk that has been dropped from the HTML5 standard:
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fdallasdoowop.com%2Fdallas_doowop_music.html&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

So you could also run into a problem with modern browsers as well.

You need to clean up the code for a start, and then look at alternative it you are going to support old browsers that almost no one is still using.

Well, it did answer my question, but an alternative solution recommendation would have been even more helpful. I found a few on my own using javascript. One is audio.js
I'll try them.
Thanks
