I need to move about 5 months/several GB of exchange 2003 database logs off a partition as soon as possible.
I have referenced Microsoft KB
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821915
and can see where I change the target folder.
Can I simply change the path and then copy over the files?  No need to shut down services or dismount store?
Can I start moving the files before I change the target path?

the log files move them selves when you change the log path.  you dont need to manually move them.

best way to do this is do a full backup of exchange (this will clear the logs for you) then change the log path.  and dbase path if required.
