CRM 2013 Workflow Email

Greetings Experts,

I want to send out a workflow email every 3 days until a date is entered into the  received field. Excuse my lack of knowledge in this area but can this be contained in just one workflow or do I need two workflows linked together..

So if this is the first workflow..

If contact:checkbox equals[YES], then:
Send email
Create task
Update contact

so how do get the email to send every 3 days if we haven't entered anything into a received date field.

Any pointers most appreciated. Kind regards. SJ

Do something like this:

If checkbox equals no then
  wait 3 days
  start this workflow
else
 send email
 create task
 etc


You'll need to mark the workflow as available to run as a child workflow so that it can call itself.

You might want to consider adding additional logic so that the workflow eventually terminates to cater for situations where the checkbox is never set to yes.

Thank you for this. This is very helpful.  Just so I am clear, can this all be within one workflow? this is how I started it, is this correct? I have put three hours as will probably test it with this data.

Yes all in one workflow.

Add the wait as a Wait condition.  In Specify Condition, select Process Timeout equals and in the Form Assistant select 3 days and in the picklist under the month/day etc select duration (this is the bit people miss).
