skype being used to locate position of user ?

Hello Experts,
Is it posible that Skype can be easily used to identify a users ip when the user is signed in ?
if so how can we protect ourselves?

I don't understand your concern because... Every server that you connect to knows your IP address.  That's how they send information back to you.  You can not connect to Anything on the internet without them seeing your IP address.

The IP known by the application is ok but the application giving it away to just any other user just like that can be a thread. specially with Skype like apps.
Reading the article I hope they already fixed it.
