I have an engenius and cisco wifi bgn. they work fine with Microsoft laptops. chromebooks connect fine and have strong signal. but when I am we bborwsing they will just suddenly stop and will say "connecting" in bottom left of chrome and just spin for about 30 seconds. then they will start working again and I can browse fast and click for a little bit and then again for 30 seconds thye will just stop...every few minutes it stop for 30 seconds. I cant figure it out....

chromebook works fine with my home wifi. no issues.

I have tried adjusting almost all settings on the wifi units...I have called the manufacturers and google.

the chromebook is set to bypassthe firewall content filter.

the wifi, firewall, chromebook are all up to date, firmware and all.

I have a guest wifi network. it is a totally separate network all the way back to the firewall, uses same firewall. goes to internet only. the chromebook works fine there also...no issues.

any thoughts??? thank you very much

There are lots of posts in the Google Chromebook forums about this.  The fixes involve turning off all the bells and whistles on the Wireless Network.  No settings changed on the Chromebook itself.

Some suggestions include:

Turn off dual band wireless g/n and set to g.
Turn off WMM
Set channel bandwidth to fixed.
Turn off WPS
Set encryption at something simple like WPA2

These may not sound like fun settings, but users are reporting them to be working.

problem ended up being something with the firewall. I had to set the chromebooks up to bypass the SSO agent on the firewall...
